Randy Eldridge, AVPRandall "Randy" Eldridge, Sr. was born in Cherrypoint, North Carolina on February 28, 1950, the third son of four boys, to Colonel William W. Eldridge, Jr. and Beverly Eldridge. As a Marine family, they were transferred to several states before settling in Santa Ana, California.

Randy attended and graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1969 after meeting his "high school sweetheart" and future wife Janice. Knowing that he wanted to be a police officer, he received an Associate in Arts Degree in Police Science from Santa Ana College. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration with a minor in Sociology graduating Magna Cum Laude from California State University-Los Angeles.

He joined the Santa Ana Police Department on November 11, 1971; graduated 4th of 36 from the Orange County Sheriff's Academy and was assigned to the Patrol Division. In 1973 he was promoted to a Crime Scene Investigator and Training Officer. In 1974 he was promoted to Detective assigned to the Juvenile Investigation Section where he worked for seven years. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on March 1981 and was in charge of a team of patrol officers. He was later promoted to Detective Sergeant in charge of the Career Criminal Apprehension Detail and the Prosecution Unit. He was awarded "Sergeant of the Year" in 1985. In his spare time, he managed an athletic club, taught Traffic School, and was a private investigator. He retired after 30 years of service on December 31, 2001. After two months of retirement, he was asked by the Chief of Police and the Executive Director of Parks to return to work for the City of Santa Ana as the Administrator of eleven Park Police Officers that they named Santa Ana Park Rangers. He worked that position for 20 hours a week for 14 years.

He married his wife Janice on May 25, 1971 and five years later Janice gave birth to their son that she insisted on naming Randall Neil Eldridge, Jr. Fifteen months later Janice gave birth to their daughter, Tricia Lynn Eldridge. They now have seven grandchildren; six girls and one boy. They have now been married for 47 wonderful years. Randy maintains that the success of their marriage is based on two simple words that he has memorized "Yes Dear".

Randy joined the Garden Grove Elks Lodge in May 1998 after learning that they had a terrific camping club called the Elk-Enders. He eventually became the President of the camping club 2004 and again in 2010. He was "Elk-Ender of the Year" in 2007 and again in 2010. He was a member of the lodge for 6 months when Esteemed Leading Knight Nelson "Santa" Burke talked him into being his Inner Guard. Nelson convinced Randy that an Officer position would only require two hours a week. He failed to mention that that was just two hours of non-elk time to enjoy in his personal life, a joke we always laugh about. Randy eventually was appointed and elected to all seven officer positions and became Exalted Ruler for the year 2014-2015. In our District's Ritual Contests, he earned First Place or Second Place for all seven positions including All State Loyal Knight. As a Past Exalted Ruler he became the Orange Coast District Piggy Bank Vice Chairman and then the Chairman receiving the honor of California-Hawaii Elks Association Chairman of the Year for 2016-2017. In 2016-2017 he served as the Esquire to the Past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler David Coffin, an experience that he and Janice will always treasure.

At the CHEA State Convention in San Diego, May 18th, he was sworn in as the State Vice President for the Orange Coast District. He continues to strive to ...
